                 Новаторские для СССР хэтчбеки нескольких классов, выпущенные в 80-е годы, создавались с оглядкой на важные для страны экспортные поставки. Расчеты советских торгпредов во многом оправдались, но конкуренция на внутреннем рынке им не снилась даже в страшном сне…

ВАЗ-2109 – Skoda Favorit

ВАЗ-2109, в народе «девятка», героиня песен и анекдотов, стала второй серийной моделью первого переднеприводного семейства Волжского автозавода и выпускалась с 1987 по 2011 год. За годы производства машина почти не менялась, и лишь в 1991 году произошел небольшой рестайлинг, который затронул решетку радиатора, а еще изменились капот, передние крылья и передняя панель в интерьере.

Уже в первые годы производства популярность машины у потребителей показала руководителям Минавтопрома, что хэтчбек ничем не хуже столь полюбившегося советскому гражданину седана. Главное, был развеян основной миф, согласно которому считалось, что большая крышка багажника со стеклом в мороз быстро выстуживает салон. Практичность также стала причиной большей популярности ВАЗ-2109 в сравнении с «восьмеркой», ведь пять дверей для рядового семьянина всегда лучше, чем три.

Одним из самых близких конкурентов в классе для ВАЗ-2109 стала чехословацкая Skoda Favorit 136 (1987–1994 гг.), первая переднеприводная модель компании, которая выпускалась все семь лет без изменений. Оба конкурента были запущены в серию после длительных испытаний и доводки в разных инжениринговых центрах Европы.

Внешне машины во многом схожи: клиновидный граненный дизайн, правильной формы оптика, пластиковые неокрашенные бамперы, горизонтальные подштамповки на бортах. Над внешностью ВАЗ-2109 работали советские промышленные дизайнеры, облик же Skoda Favorit разработан специалистами из итальянского дизайн-ателье Bertоne. «Девятка» на 18 сантиметров длиннее западного конкурента, прирост пришелся на багажник. А вот колесные базы разнятся меньше, чем на сантиметр. Высота и ширина обеих машин также очень близки.

Салоны конкурентов всем своим внешним видом говорят, что они создавались в одну эпоху. К примеру, в оформлении торпедо и дверных карт активно использовался модный тогда пластик. Передняя панель в Спутнике выглядит более органично, в Шкоде смущает покатый, открывающийся вверх перчаточный ящик. Полезное пространство сравниваемых авто почти одинаково, что объясняется по большому счету равной колесной базой и шириной кузова. А вот багажный отсек у ВАЗ-2109 на 60 литров больше – 330 против 270 литров. При сложенном заднем ряду сидений эти показатели возрастали до 1 340 и 1 038 литров соответственно (эти данные могут незначительно отличаться в связи с отсутствием единой принятой методики измерения в разных странах). Доступ в багажный отсек обеих машин легким не назовешь – виной всему большая погрузочная высота обеих хэтчбеков. Из-за этого автолюбителям приходилось поднимать груз почти на метровую высоту, выше задней оптики и панели с номерным знаком.

Теперь перейдем к технической части. За свою четвертьвековую историю ВАЗ-2109 примерил несколько бензиновых силовых агрегатов объемом 1,1–1,6 литра и мощностью 54–80 л.с., которые стали общими для всего семейства Спутников. Карбюраторные, а позже инжекторные моторы отличались для своего времени хорошей отзывчивостью и топливной экономичностью. Вместе с ними устанавливались 4- или 5-ступенчатые механические трансмиссии. Для чехословацкой Skoda Favorit предлагался лишь один 1,3-литровый двигатель мощностью от 54 до 67 л.с. В его основе лежал морально устаревший агрегат, который устанавливался еще на заднемоторных моделях Skoda. Фаворит оснащался только 5-ступенчатой механической КПП. Подвеска сравниваемых машин конструктивно идентична. И на отечественном хэтчбеке, и на иномарке спереди установлены «стойки» типа «МакФерсон», сзади же П-образная балка. Обе машины стали для своих компаний такими себе палочками-выручалочками. ВАЗ-2109 помог спасти АвтоВАЗ от банкротства в трудные 90-е, а Skoda Favorit стала той соломинкой, которая помогла удержаться на плаву всему бренду, и даже стала той моделью, с которой концерн VW Group начал возрождение чехословацкой марки. И ВАЗ-2109, и Skoda Favorit тогда вполне успешно продавались в Европе. Более того, советская и чехословацкая машины конкурировали не только на «нейтральной» территории развитых капстран, но, было дело, сходились в конкурентном поединке на «нашей» территории.

Favorit был одной из первых иномарок, официально поставлявшихся в страны распавшегося СССР, причем в некоторых случаях (например, на Украине) «девятка» как более солидная машина стоила дороже Шкоды. В сравнительных тестах автожурналисты отмечали субтильность кузовных деталей Фаворита и взрослую основательность ВАЗа. Время подтвердило выводы наших старших коллег.

«Москвич-2141» – Volkswagen Passat (B2)

Кардинально новой машины от конструкторов Автомобильного завода имени Ленинского Комсомола советская общественность ждала долго. Разработка вместительного семейного хэтчбека (D-класса по европейской классификации) велась в КБ предприятия еще с конца 60-х годов. Менялись иностранные прототипы для заимствования идей, технические задания, названия, и только в 1986 году началось серийное производство окончательно сложившегося автомобиля. Конечно, речь идет о Москвиче-2141, известном на зарубежных рынках как Алеко.

Переднеприводный хэтчбек из Москвы стал для отечественной промышленности родоначальником нового подкласса автомобилей – вместительных, комфортабельных, быстрых, но в то же время доступных каждому гражданину, а не только элите, как было с Волгой. Типажную нишу между ней и Жигулями и должен был занять «сорок первый». «На западе» в 80-х также появился автомобиль с базовым кузовом хэтчбек одной очень народной марки. Имя ему Volkswagen Passat, к тому времени доживший до своего второго поколения. Машина получила заводской индекс В2, выпуск ее начался в 1981 году и продержался до 2006 года в Южной Америке и аж до 2013 года в Китае.

Внешне автомобили-конкуренты объединяет тип кузова и общие черты дизайна, типичные для машин-одноклассников той поры. Опытные образцы Москвича 78-79 годов уже полностью соответствовали дизайну серийной машины, поэтому де-факто его экстерьер можно считать родившимся именно в конце семидесятых. Благодаря более узкой передней оптике, молдингам на боковинах, большей длине и широким бамперам «немец» выглядит более приземистым, хотя на самом деле Пассат лишь на полтора сантиметра ниже «41-го». А вот по основному параметру, который определяет удобство размещения пассажиров в салоне, – колесной базе – Москвич даже опережает конкурента. Судите сами: 2 580 против 2 550 мм.

Интерьер сравниваемых машин в 80-е выглядел модно – угловатое торпедо, прямоугольные кнопки, пластиковые панели. В машинах существенно отличаются центральные консоли. На Москвиче она более низкая, что немного ухудшает эргономику, поскольку приходится тянуться вниз, чтобы добраться до органов управления печкой и радио. В Volkswagen большинство клавиш и рычагов, дефлекторы обдува находятся на одной высоте с щитком приборов, что облегчает управление. Места в салоне обоих участников сравнения достаточно, разве что передние кресла «41-го» стоят высоко, и у рослых пассажиров есть шанс достать макушкой до потолка.

В автомобилях с таким типом кузова немалую роль играет багажный отсек. По его полезному объему побеждает отечественный хэтчбек (470 против 390 литров), при сложенных задних сидениях показатели почти равны – 1 270 и 1 285 литров соответственно. Недостатком багажника Алеко считается заметно большая погрузочная высота.

Технические «внутренности» конкурентов имеют много общих черт – передний привод, передняя подвеска типа «МакФерсон», продольное расположение силового агрегата и прочие. Москвич-2141 предлагался с несколькими бензиновыми и дизельными (ограниченным тиражом) двигателями объемом от 1,5 до 2,0 литров и мощностью 71–114 л.с. Фольксваген же располагал 1,3–2,2-литровыми моторами мощностью 55–136 л.с. Наш «41-й» предлагался исключительно с пятиступенчатой механической трансмиссией, для Пассата же это были 4- и 5-ступенчатые «механики», а также четырехдиапазонный «автомат». Интересно, что небольшими сериями выпускались полноприводные версии обеих машин-конкурентов. Подвески Москвича-2141 и Volkswagen Passat конструктивно похожи – спереди «стойки», сзади – полузависимая балка кручения.

Судьбы отечественных героев нашего материала сложились по-разному. ВАЗ-2109 стала символом успеха в 80-х и 90-х, ее «дочерние» модели продержались на конвейере до 2013 года. «Девятка» во всех версиях до сих пор является желаемым автомобилем начального уровня в провинциальных городках нашей большой страны. Москвичу повезло меньше. Низкое качество изготовления кузова и агрегатов в постперестроечные времена подкосило его репутацию, хотя конструктивно он был далеко не так плох. АЗЛК не получил такой популярности, как, скажем, Самара, а в целом он стал одним из печальных символов автопрома депрессивных 90-х и примером того, как отличную идею может похоронить ее несовершенное воплощение.
